President's Lunch is first event in Norton Suite
The Director-General of The British Chambers of Commerce, David Frost, was Guest Speaker at the NHCCI President’s Lunch on October 9.
The event was held at Norton Park – formerly known as Norton Manor – at Sutton Scotney, just outside Winchester, which is undergoing a major redevelopment to turn it into a 4-star hotel with 185 bedrooms. New facilities will include 90 bedrooms, restaurant and bar, and a leisure club and beauty suite.
A new, multi-purpose conference, meeting and banqueting suite has been created: at its heart is the spectacular new Norton Suite capable of accommodating over 300 people for conferencing and 250 people for private dinners.
QHotels are grateful to NHCCI for the support it has offered throughout the development and it was therefore particularly fitting that the first event to be held in the new Norton Suite should be the President’s Lunch.
Andrew Mosley, General Manager at Norton Park, said: “2006 has seen an extraordinary journey for Norton Park, now nearing its exciting conclusion. We will have invested over £11million and will move the hotel complex into a new league as a first-choice venue for conferencing and business as well as a premier leisure, dining and wedding venue.
“We were delighted to welcome North Hampshire Chamber of Commerce to the Norton Suite and to celebrate with members the opening of this fantastic new facility.”
Andrew marked the special occasion by presenting a cut-glass bowl to David Evans, NHCCI President.
Guest speaker David Frost, Director General of the British Chambers of Commerce, gave members an update on the economy and demonstrated the powerful message that he presents to the Government. He stressed: "It is now more vital than ever that we speak with authority on behalf of British business.
"Business creates the wealth and the jobs that pays the taxes that allow this country to have the high-quality public services that we all want for ourselves and our families." |
