Local Designer Wins National Kitchen and Bathroom Industry Award

Highclere based designer, Nikita Pearce, who works for Callisto Design of Andover, Hampshire, has won the Young Designer Award for Kitchens at the national kbbreview Industry Awards 2010!

Nikita says of the award: “I am overwhelmed to have won this award and it is very encouraging to know that the judging panel were impressed with my design. To win a national award like this means a great deal to a small company like ours – it is the first time the work we do at Callisto has been recognised by our peers within this exciting industry, which is an enormous honour.”

“I must also give special thanks to Iain, the managing director of Callisto Design, who has worked so hard over the last 18 months to make the business a success. I am already looking forward to the 2011 Awards, when I hope to defend my title!”

The judges were impressed by Nikita’s transformation of an awkward space. They also made mention of Nikita’s ability to accommodate the clients’ very specific needs.Nikita’s Winning Design Andrew Davies, head judge and editor of kbbreview magazine, who host the awards, remarks: “Nikita has done fantastically well and I would like to congratulate her on behalf of everyone at kbbreview. Her design really did stand out from the others and she should be very proud of herself. There has never been such a challenging time in the kitchen and bathroom industry and the awards were a great opportunity to reward excellence and hard work. Well done!”

Organised and hosted by kbbreview magazine, the prestigious annual awards are in their 16th year and are the pinnacle of the industry. They are designed to reward and acknowledge excellence in room design, product innovation and business practice within the kitchen and bathroom industry in the UK. Held at the Hilton Metropole Hotel in Birmingham, the ceremony was hosted by comedian Hugh Dennis, best known for his appearances on Mock the Week and Outnumbered, and his work with Steve Punt. The dazzling awards ceremony was attended by over 800 people, among them key figures from the kitchen and bathroom industry, as well as the finalists in each category. Attendees enjoyed a delicious three course meal, and entertainment including a casino and disco.
