Changing the view of Basing View

A new website to help change people’s view of Basingstoke biggest business centre and attract new investment into the area was launched today.

www.basingview.co.uk is the new dedicated website for Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council’s ambitious plans to regenerate the 65-acre Basing View business park in the centre of town.

The website has been launched as the borough council makes significant investment to prepare the site for major redevelopment and prepare a comprehensive master plan to outline how the park can be transformed into a 21st century business location.

The work being undertaken by the council will include demolishing two out of date office buildings from spring next year to clear the sites for redevelopment and improvements to the landscaping, signage and public spaces to help improve the image and first impression of Basing View.

Cabinet Member for Finance and Property Cllr James Lewin said: We need to show people that this council is serious about changing the view of Basing View. Alongside the physical improvements and works taking place on the ground, this new website will help show potential investors as well as new and existing businesses the potential that Basing View has to offer.”

The new website charts the history of Basing View from its development as an iconic business park in the 1970s and 80s through to the present day and the council’s vision and plans for the future of the site. The demolition of obsolete buildings will be financed through government growth-point funding, as Basingstoke and Deane has been identified as a national ‘diamond for investment and growth’ and an important area for driving economic growth in the South East region.
