Doing Business in Rushmoor
Rushmoor Borough lies in the heart of the Blackwater Valley,
a successful and vibrant commercial region extending from
Farnham in the south towards Bracknell in the north. Rushmoor
largely comprises the key towns of Aldershot and Farnborough.
Aldershot is world famous as the home of the British Army.
Farnborough hosts the bi-annual international Farnborough
Airshow held on the site of the birthplace of flying and aeronautical
research in Britain.
The Borough covers an area of 3,900 hectares in north east
Hampshire. The eastern side of Rushmoor is predominately urban
in character, whilst the western side includes significant
areas of open space and woodland. The area benefits from excellent
communication links to London, being situated within minutes
of the M3 and close to the M4 motorway. Two mainline stations
provide frequent services: Farnborough to London (Waterloo)
and North Camp directly to Gatwick. Heathrow is within easy
reach by road and rail. Rushmoor also benefits from the economic
advantage of Farnborough Airport for business aviation.
